<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus free from maintenance, simple in the structure and made compact and capable of softening and recycling high hardness raw water with low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus includes an ion exchange bodies (19, 20) adsorbing ions dissolved in water, an ion exchange membrane 17 for desorbing the ions adsorbed in the ion exchange bodies (19, 20) and at least a pair of electrodes (16a, 16b) for applying voltage to the ion exchange membrane 17, wherein voltage below the decomposition voltage of water is applied between the electrodes (16a, 16b) when hot water is supplied to the ion exchange membrane 17 and the ion exchange bodies (19, 20) absorb the ions. The treated water in which the ions in the water are removed contains no gas produced by the electrolysis of water and a gas has no possibility of being retained in a flow path through which the treated water is introduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
