Pentacyclic anti-tumour compounds with angeloyl groups and optional sugar moieties

Disclosed is the use of a compound of formula (5), or a salt or ester thereof, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification, for treating ovarian cancer. Also disclosed are new compounds of the same formula and uses thereof. Also discloses is a method for isolating the above compounds from Xanthocera sorbifolia herb or plants from the sapindaceae family.
