A flotation device is disclosed which comprises an outer garment having an inner lining located adjacent an inner surface of the outer garment and attached thereto, and an inflatable bladder encapsulated within the inner lining. The inflatable bladder comprises a neck region and at least one hest region. The neck region comprises a first outer surface and a second outer surface, where the first outer surface, in use, is located adjacent a wearer's body. When the inflatable bladder is inflated, at least one raised support chamber having an outer chamber surface at its upper extent, is disposed on the second outer surface such that the distance between the outer chamber surface and the first outer surface is greater than the distance between the second outer surface and the first outer surface.
