PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cutting a bar-like work capable of preventing a trace of a slip from being formed on the work due to the slip rotational drive of a feed roller when the bar-like work is cut to a predetermined length from its tip. SOLUTION: The method of cutting a bar-like work includes a detection step of detecting the tip 40a of the work 40 by a sensor 15 which is disposed between a cutting means 14 and a stopper member 21 at a position where the feed roller is not included in a detection area, a feed roller stopping step of stopping, after the tip 40a is detected by the sensor 15, the rotational drive of the feed roller after the feed roller is rotated and driven by a work feed amount set according to a distance E between a detection position P where the tip 40a of the work is detected by the sensor 15 and the arrangement position S where a stopper member is disposed, and a cutting step of cutting the work 40 by the cutting means 14 after the feed roller stopping step.
