<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode discharge lamp device capable of increasing an optical output by increasing a discharge current in a cold cathode discharge lamp, reducing power consumption, and reducing size, and to provide a light emitting device using the cold cathode discharge lamp device. <P>SOLUTION: The cold cathode discharge lamp device includes: a translucent airtight bulb 2 having a noble gas and mercury enclosed inside and formed with a phosphor layer 4 on its inner peripheral surface; the cold cathode discharge lamp 1 including a cylindrical electrode 5 sealed respectively to both ends of the airtight bulb 2 with one end being an opening 5a and an other end being a bottom end 5b, formed so that an axial length from the opening 5a to the bottom end 5b is 5 mm or longer, and consisting of Ni alloy containing Nb, and an electrode member 3 having an electrode lead wire 6 connected to the bottom end 5b of the cylindrical electrode 5; and a lighting device 14 lighting the cold cathode discharge lamp 1 with a tube current no lower than 10 mA. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
