<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce the size of a device which traps particulates in exhaust gas from a diesel engine or the like and combustion-removes them. <P>SOLUTION: A diesel particulate filter supporting an oxidation catalyst and a regenerating electric heater are arranged adjacent to each other, and an external power supply driven blowing means is detachably constructed in an opening/closing portion on the midway of an exhaust passage. Thus, only when it is necessary to combustion-remove trapped particulates, the blowing means is mounted in the opening/closing portion for regeneration.
