<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification medium capable of achieving an optical function that shows sharp changes in the figure and color of a three-dimensional image when viewing angles are changed. <P>SOLUTION: The medium includes, from an observation surface side, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 12, a left-handed circularly polarized light filter layer 20 and an aluminum reflection layer 16. A hologram 13 for a right eye is formed in the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 12, while a hologram 18 for a left eye is formed in the aluminum reflection layer 16. When natural light enters the identification medium 10, the light is reflected carrying a hologram image for a right eye from the hologram 13 for a right eye as right-handed circularly polarized light and a hologram image for a left eye from the hologram 18 for a left eye as left-handed circularly polarized light. An observer observes a three-dimensional image by selectively observing the hologram for a right eye through the observer's right eye by use of a right-handed circularly polarized light filter and selectively observing the hologram for a left eye through the left eye by use of a left-handed circularly polarized light filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
