<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus for achieving a short-range detection and a long-range detection, miniaturizing the entire apparatus, simplified, and reducing a cost. <P>SOLUTION: If the radar apparatus implements the short-range detection, a received signal during the short-range detection is derived to a subsequent receiving/processing part 52 through a low-gain circuit in a preceding receiving/processing part 51 according to a control signal from a signal processor 10.
