<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a required memory capacity increases if standby print jobs are all held in two kinds of forms of a PDL and halftone print data generated by expanding the PDL to meet hue variation in a network printer, and moreover that rendering is required again for all of the standby print jobs if hue variation occurs. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of storing a print job, a received PDL is expanded to generate contone data, and the contone data is JPEG compressed. When a compression ratio is high, the print job (print image data) is stored in the JPEG form. Even when the compression ratio is low, selection is made to store the job by only the PDL or by the PDL and halftone print data according to an expansion time of the PDL. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
