<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent packets from being exhausted in a fluctuation absorption buffer and simultaneously, to prevent output delay of packets accumulated in the fluctuation absorption buffer. <P>SOLUTION: A fluctuation absorption buffer 22 is constituted of e.g., ring buffers and accumulates packets received by a packet transmitting and receiving section 21 time-sequentially. A count section 23 counts the number of packets accumulated in the fluctuation absorption buffer 22 in a predetermined cycle shorter than or equal to a first cycle to calculate a packet count value. A buffer size modification section 24 calculates, from N times of past packet count values calculated by the count section 23, an N-th smallest packet count value as a representative value of packet count values and deletes packets accumulated in the fluctuation absorption buffer 22 if the calculated representative value is larger than a predetermined reference value, or inserts a packet into the fluctuation absorption buffer 22 if the representative value is smaller than the reference value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
