PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based glass fiber sizing agent satisfying both of glass fiber coherency and mechanical strength of FRTP (glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin) using the glass fiber as the sizing agent. SOLUTION: There are provided a glass fiber sizing agent comprising a dibasic carboxylic acid-modified polyolefin resin (A) having weight-average molecular weight of 15,000-150,000 and an acid value of the solid of 100-300, the water-based glass fiber sizing agent provided by neutralizing the dibasic carboxylic acid-modified polyolefin resin (A) and dispersed in water, and a method for producing the water-based glass fiber sizing agent.
