PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of maintaining reliable positioning in a positioning mechanism for regulating the relative positions of a conveying mechanism and a printing mechanism. SOLUTION: The image recorder 10 includes the conveying mechanism 13 having a platen 41 for conveying a recording medium 21; an image recording part 12 ejecting ink to the recording medium 21 conveyed by the conveying mechanism 13 to carry out image recording; a lifting mechanism 14 moving the conveying mechanism 13 into an image recording position; a positioning part for positioning the image recording part 12 and the conveying mechanism 13 in the image recording position; and a cleaning mechanism for eliminating foreign matter sticking to the positioning part.
