PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-gauge steel material, which has high cross-sectional performance, for use in a steel-frame structure of structures, low-rise buildings, etc. SOLUTION: This double-flange light-gauge steel is characterized by: a light-gauge channel steel which has a width-direction portion of a long steel plate bent to have an approximately U-shaped cross section, and which composes a flange 1b having the steel plate doubled by turning back and bent a leading end of the approximately U-shaped cross-section flange 1a at an angle of 180 degrees and a web 2 whose central portion is formed of a single plate; and lip light-gauge H-shaped steel which has a width-direction portion of a long-side steel plate bent to have an approximately H-shaped cross section, while a leading end of a flange 11a having an inward lip 13, and which composes of the lip 13 of a double steel plate formed by turning back and bending the leading end of the flange 11a at an angle of 180 degrees, the flange 11a and a web 12a whose central portion is formed of a single plate.
