PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide capsule toner hardly causing a decrease in fluidity of a developer without spoiling low temperature fixability and hot offset resistance, and to develop a method for producing the toner. SOLUTION: The capsule toner comprises core particles (A) containing a colorant and a polyester resin (a) and a shell layer covering the surface of each particle, wherein the shell layer contains a higherα-olefin polymer having a melting point in the range from 55°C to 70°C, obtained by polymerizingα-olefins having 16 or more carbon atoms and a polyester resin (B) having a glass transition point in the range from 50°C to 65°C.
