PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for inspecting products precisely inspecting the products in an extremely simple and inexpensive configuration and easily coping with various products having different shapes and specifications without depending on the color tones of the products to be inspected. SOLUTION: When inspection units 12a-12d displace a detection block 102 in the direction of an arrow Z via an adaptor 104 in a state where reference units 16a-16d of the products are in contact with positioning bolts 38a-38d, the displacement is amplified by a link member 78 and is converted to displacement in the direction of an arrow X in the displacement block 68.
