PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a gap fluctuation caused by eccentricity when rotating the first and second platen rollers. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is equipped with: an inkjet head 12; and the first and second platen rollers 13a, 13b which are arranged adjoining the upstream and downstream sides across the inkjet head in the conveying direction of a medium 1 for recording and rotate synchronously, at the position where the medium for recording is inserted between platen rollers and the inkjet head. In the image forming apparatus, while the first and second platen rollers support the medium for recording and specify the distance between the inkjet head and the medium for recording, and rotate following the transfer of the medium for recording, the first and second platen rollers are connected by synchronous rotation coupling mechanisms 100, 101 so that the eccentricity phases of the first and second platen rollers may appear at mutually inverse timings.
