PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for working a pipe, by which the strength of the end part of the pipe is secured and the pipe is made light in weight. SOLUTION: In the method for working the pipe, after bending the end portion 1a of the pipe 1 fixed to a fixing tool 11 toward the inside in the radial direction of the pipe 1 by the rotation of a roller 29 which is provided to the device 12 for working the pipe, the end portion 1a is bent until the end portion 1a comes into close contact with the inside 3a of the pipe 1 with the roller 31. In this way, since the wall part 3 and the end portion 1a of the pipe 1 is superposed on each other and integrated, a predetermined thickness which withstands welding, for example, is secured in the end 2 of the pipe 1. On the other hand, since the wall part 3 other than the end part 2 is relatively made thin in the thickness, the pipe 1 is made light in weight.
