Disclosed is a cell capacity adjusting device for reducing residual capacity fluctuations among a plurality cells (111 - 116) of an assembled battery (101), which is constructed by connecting in series said plurality of cells, during suspended operation of an electric motor in which the assembled battery (101) is the main power source. One or more cells having a voltage value at or above a cell capacity adjustment target voltage is/are selected from the plurality of cells (111 - 116). According to the selected cell, an intermittent operation unit (105), which operates while the operation of the electric motor is suspended, operates intermittently. By repeating the intermittent operation in order to lower the voltage value of the selected cell, the residual capacity fluctuations among cells are reduced without the stored energy of the batteries in the assembled battery (101) being needlessly discharged. |
