PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device for a tank, capable of slowing a sinking rate when a measuring device body sinks in a liquid and protecting a bottom of the tank or the measuring device body from damage. SOLUTION: The measuring device includes the measuring device body 4 suspended in the tank 1 by a cord 3 and formed like a rod extending in a vertical direction; a plurality of pillars 11 attached outside a side face of the measuring device body 4 by hinges 10 and rotationally moving into a closed state along the side face of the measuring device body 4 and an expanded state, opening in a horizontal direction with respect to the measuring device body 4; an expanding mechanism 13 holding the pillars 11 in the closed state when suspended in the tank 1 by the cord 3, and expanding the pillars 11 when the measuring device body 4 falls down and collides with a liquid surface 5 in the tank 1; and films 12 connecting the pillars 11 to each other, being folded when the pillars 11 are closed, and spread when the pillars 11 are expanded, serving as a resistance when the measuring device body 4 sinks in the liquid 6 in the tank 1.
