PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive rack shaft support device for suppressing generation of noise over a long period. SOLUTION: Both cam members 21 and 22 energized by a compression coil spring 23 are moved outside in a radial direction R1 of a holding hole 16 with development of wear of a sliding part of a support yoke 18 and a rack shaft 8. According to the moving of both the cam members 21 and 22, flat first and third inclined surfaces 24 and 26 between both of the cam members 21 and 22 and a rear surface 18b of the support yoke 18 are relatively moved, and flat second and forth inclined surfaces 25 and 27 are relatively moved. The support yoke 18 is moved by being pushed to the rack shaft 8 side to compensate wear of the support yoke 18.
