PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing technology of a display device of a plasma display panel or the like. SOLUTION: The PDP is provided with a first and a second ring seals 47, 48 arranged in separation in a sealing region 18 of a first substrate 10, and a buffer space 90, located between the first ring seal 47 and the second ring seal 48; and the buffer space 90 is set so as its pressure to be lower than that of a space above a light-emitting area 19 surrounded by the first ring seal 47. Since the pressure of the space above the light-emitting area 19 is set higher than that of the buffer space 90, even if the air in the space above the light-emitting area 19 diffuses inside the first ring seal 47 and infiltrates the buffer space 90, it is so constituted that the air inside the buffer space 90 would not diffuse inside the first ring seal 47 and does not intrude in the space above the light-emitting area 19.
