PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for enabling smooth removal of a connection pin without the operation of the weight of a boom connected to the connection pin when using a cylinder-boom connection means for removing the connection pin from a connection hole in the base end of the boom in a cylinder-boom disconnection stroke. SOLUTION: The control device is provided for a boom telescopic mechanism which includes the telescopic boom, one expansion/contraction cylinder 1, the cylinder-boom connection means 20, a boom-boom fixing means, and a fixing pin driving means 40, and which repeats a cylinder-boom connection stroke, a boom-boom unfixing stroke, a boom telescopic stroke, a boom-boom fixing stroke, the cylinder-boom disconnection stroke and an expansion/contraction cylinder expansion/contraction stroke for telescopic operation of the telescopic boom. The control device includes an expansion/contraction cylinder expansion/contraction control means 100 for controlling the expansion/contraction operation of the expansion/contraction cylinder, and a controller 65 outputting an expansion/contraction cylinder contraction signal to the expansion/contraction cylinder expansion/contraction control means right before the cylinder-boom disconnection stroke.
