PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience of a service using a digital map. SOLUTION: A map display controller comprises: a first storage means for storing a two-dimensional map image and coordinate information mapped to each other; a second storage means for storing a three-dimensional map image, the coordinate information and the sight line direction mapped to each other; a first display control means for implementing a control for reading the two-dimensional map image having the coordinate information corresponding to a current position from the first storage means, identifying the three-dimensional map image having the coordinate information corresponding to a predetermined position from the second storage means with regard to the predetermined position existing on a route from the current position to a destination, and displaying and overlapping the two-dimensional map image with three-dimensional map direction information representing the sight line direction of the identified three-dimensional map image; a second display control means for implementing a control for displaying the three-dimensional map image stored in the second storage means; and a switch means for controlling so that the two-dimensional map image and the three-dimensional map image are switched and displayed.
