PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azimuth detector for accurately finding azimuth by using a triaxial magnetic sensor for detecting geomagnetism, etc. and an angular velocity detector. SOLUTION: A geomagnetic vector is detected on three-dimensional coordinates of XO-YO-ZO axes at the time of an initial attitude. Thereafter, an angular velocity is detected by an angular velocity detector and the angular velocity is integrated and added up to find an angular variationθp around an X axis and an angular variationθr around a Y axis. A rotation angle around the Z axis, that is, a directional change angleαcan be calculated by returning the three-dimensional coordinates by the angular variationθp around the X axis and by the angular variationθr around the Y axis when the latest coordinate point data are acquired.
