Provided is a Factor Xa variant which modulates haemostasis comprising at least one substitution mutation at an amino acid selected from the group consisting of: a) the Ile at position 16 in chymotrypsin numbering system, b) the Val at position 17 in chymotrypsin numbering system, c) the Gly at position 18 in chymotrypsin numbering system, d) the Gly at position 19 in chymotrypsin numbering system, and e) the Asp at position 194 in chymotrypsin numbering system, wherein if only the Ile at position 16 is changed, the residue is not substituted with Ala or Val. Further provided are corresponding nucleic acids encoding the peptide variants. The compounds can be used to treat haemostasis-related disorders. |
