PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor optical waveform shaping device capable of providing an optical repeater for multiplex signal light with a smaller number of components.SOLUTION: The semiconductor optical waveform shaping device 1 includes a first active layer 11 whose gain factor to a second optical signal different from a first optical signal in the wavelength or the polarization direction for amplifying the first optical signal is 10% or below of a gain factor to the first optical signal, a second active layer 12 whose gain factor to the first optical signal for amplifying the second optical signal is 10% or below of gain factor to the second optical signal, and a waveguide core which is provided between the first active layer and the second active layer and contains a carrier supply layer 13 acting as a supply source of carrier to each layer. |
