<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object sensing structure for an opening/closing device that can better sense an object positioned on the closing direction relative to an opening/closing body over the width direction of the opening/closing body with a simple structure, and also protects a sensing part for such sensing. <P>SOLUTION: At the lower end of an opening/closing body 10, a fixed seat plate 14 is provided integrally with the opening/closing body 10, and a movable seat plate 15 is provided at the lower side of the fixed seat plate 14 such that said movable seat plate moves in the opening direction of the opening/closing body. As a result, a space S, in which four sides in the vertical direction side of the opening/closing body and the thickness direction side thereof are surrounded by the fixed seat plate 14 and the movable seat plate 15, is defined in the width direction of the opening/closing body. In the space S, a sensing part 14d is provided in the width direction of the opening/closing body such that the movement of the movable seat plate 15 in the opening direction of the opening/closing body relative to the fixed seat plate 14 can be sensed. In the opening/closing body 10, a passage opening 11a that penetrates in the thickness direction is formed.
