摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and a camera which enable the same degree of ranging as that of a phase difference AF with output signals from image pickup elements, have a relatively simple structure of the image pickup elements, and cause less image quality deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: In an imaging device including a photoelectric conversion cell group in which a plurality of photoelectric conversion cells each converting an optical image focused by an optical system into an electric signal are two-dimensionally arrayed, at least part of the photoelectric conversion cells is configured to output an image signal and a signal for ranging. The photoelectric conversion cells are arranged such that the areas of photoelectric conversion regions of the photoelectric conversion cells outputting the image signals, having the same light-receiving spectral sensibility and each including the photoelectric conversion cell the outputting image signal and the signal for the ranging, out of the photoelectric conversion group are generally same, and in at least two photoelectric conversion cells necessary for the ranging, a distance between area centroids of the photoelectric conversion regions of the photoelectric conversion cells each outputting the image signal and the signal for the ranging is different from a distance between centers calculated from a pixel pitch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
