<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a felt for papermaking which prevents reduction of permeability at a pressurized state by compression (collapse) of felt, dirt, or the like and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A felt 100 for papermaking is prepared by laminating a butt fiber 3 on a base fabric which has at least one or more layers of woven fabrics 4, and then integrally interlacing the laminate. A resin layer 2 with gaps is formed at a boundary between the papermaking surface side or the traveling surface side of one layer of the woven fabric and the butt fiber, or is formed in the woven fabric. A low melting point resin whose melting point temperature is lower than the melting point temperature of a high melting point resin which forms a first warp 5 and a first weft 6 is used for the at least a portion of a second warp 8 and a second weft which are woven into either one of or both of a first weft and a first warp. The resin layer is formed by heating either one of or both of the second warp 8 and the second weft at a temperature that is higher than the melting point temperature of the low melting point resin and is lower than the melting point temperature of the high melting point resin and then cooling them.
