<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powerful hybrid key management method for an SCADA system that is effective and supports alternative protocol decreasing the number of keys held at a master terminal by applying open key-based encryption between the master terminal and a sub-terminal and symmetrical key-based encryption with high efficiency between the sub-terminal and a remote terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A hybrid key management method for the SCADA system comprising a master terminal (MTU) 21, many sub-terminals (SUB-MTU) 22, and many remote terminals (RTU) 23 in sequential layers includes a step in which the master terminal and respective sub-terminals generate, electronically sign, and exchange their secret numbers, a step in which the master terminal generates a group key, and an initial distribution step in which the master terminal distributes the group key to the respective sub-terminals, the group key being encrypted and decrypted with the secret numbers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
