<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sound recording to be performed successfully, in either case of attaching an accessory or not attaching the accessory on a recording device capable of recording sound with a built-in microphone, not depending on the type of the accessory if attached. <P>SOLUTION: A detection section 144 detects that the accessory is attached on a camera 100. An accessory type control section 142 discriminates the type of the accessory attached. Built-in microphones 102 and 104 convert collected sound into sound signals. An audio control section 150 creates voice data by processing the sound signals from the built-in microphones 102 and 104, while the audio control section 150 determines sound signal correction data to be referred when executing processing on the sound signals, according to the type of the accessory discriminated by the accessory type control section 142, from multiple types of the sound signal correction data preliminarily stored.
