<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power variation during gear shifting, while maintaining thermal efficiency of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for control of a vehicle drive unit includes: an internal combustion engine; a motor; a first input shaft connected to the motor and selectively connected to the internal combustion engine via a first ON/OFF device; a second input shaft selectively connected to the internal combustion engine via a second ON/OFF device; an output shaft that outputs power to a driven part; and a transmission. The transmission includes: a first gear group arranged on the first input shaft and composed of a plurality of gears selectively connected to the first input shaft via a first synchronizing apparatus; a second gear group arranged on the second input shaft, and composed of a plurality of gears selectively connected to the second input shaft via a second synchronizing apparatus; and a third gear group arranged on the output shaft and composed of a plurality of gears to be meshed with the gears of the first and second gear groups. When the transmission that includes a torque phase and an inertia phase during a transmission stage shifts up, the motor is controlled to absorb power variation in the inertia phase by the operation of the motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
