<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly charge a battery in engine-drive mode that uses an engine as a driving force source for traveling. <P>SOLUTION: A predetermined quick-charge condition is satisfied, a first motor generator MG1 and a second motor generator MG2 are controlled to generate power for charging a battery 46, and quick-charge drive mode is executed in which an engine 12 is started at an operation point that generates power PW required for power generation by the first and second motor generators MG1 and MG2 and a required driving force F for traveling.
