PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve spectrum efficiency of a cellular single frequency network using a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) method.
SOLUTION: One transmission antenna is provided per cell, and a plurality of data streams are transmitted from a plurality of cells for one data stream per transmission antenna set. Mapping of streams to antenna sets is temporally permutated. A user equipment device (UE) of a cell end obtains profits from MIMO. The UE near a cell center obtains profits from a carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I). Each stream is transmitted concurrently from one set in a fundamental layer of hierarchically modulated signals and from another set in an expansion layer of hierarchically modulated signal. Mapping of sets to streams is temporally permutated. The UE of the cell end obtains profits from the MIMO. The UE near the cell center obtains profits from a high C/I for decoding both streams from the fundamental and expansion layers.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
