Disclosed is the use of at least one 6-halogen-[1,2,4]-triazolo[1,5-a]-pyrimidine compound, represented by general formula (I), for combating parasites in and on non-human animals. Also disclosed is a method for treating, controlling, preventing or protecting non-human animals against infestation or infection by parasites which comprises orally, topically or parenterally administering or applying to the non-human animals a compound of formula (I).
