Use of tris(hydroxyquinolinolato)gallium(III) for the treatment of melanomas

Disclosed is the use of tris(8-hydroxyquinolinolato)gallium(III) and its derivatives for the manufacture of a medicament for treating melanoma or metastatic melanoma, and wherein the hydroxyquinoline moiety may optionally be substituted up to three times with a substituent selected from alkyl, halogen or sulfonyl.
