PURPOSE: An electronic apparatus and method thereof provided to previously update firmware by activating an emergency mode in a power-on state. CONSTITUTION: An emergency mode is activated in a holding state of an electronic apparatus(S103~S105). A connection between the electronic apparatus and an external USB storage unit which stores new firmware(S106). The new firmware is uploaded by confirming the new firmware(S107,S108). The uploaded new firmware is stored in a buffer memory unit(S109).
