LUBRICANT FOR MIST CUTTING, AND MIST CUTTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant for mist cutting usable for cutting aluminum or an aluminum alloy, having little environmental load, and capable of suppressing welding onto a tool blade edge, and to provide a mist cutting method using the lubricant for mist cutting.

SOLUTION: The lubricant for mist cutting containing a water-soluble liquid compound having a hydroxyl group or aqueous solution of the water-soluble liquid compound, is supplied in a mist state to a blade edge cutting point of a tool coated with diamond-like carbon, when cutting aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The mist cutting method using the lubricant for mist cutting is also provided.
