<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a useful effect for a plurality of storage compartments using a mist spraying device, even when mist is sprayed a little. <P>SOLUTION: A refrigerator includes an indirect supplier for indirectly spraying mist to other than the storage compartment including the mist spraying device. The mist supplied from the mist spraying device is intermittently sprayed to a specific storage compartment including the mist spraying device, and the intermittent mist supply causes a mist concentration of each storage compartment to vary. As a result, a living body stress is applied to mold and bacterial yeast which adhere to a chamber wall of the storage compartment, a surface of food, and the like, as well as microorganism such as a virus.
