<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating section freight traffic volume in a railroad trunk line section which can simply estimate the section freight traffic volume in the trunk line section accompanying a change of a traffic condition and an increase and decrease of freight stations in a railroad freight traffic network. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for estimating the section freight traffic volume in the railroad trunk line section, an estimation of the section traffic volume is carried out based on adjustment of a database of freight traffic passing through the trunk line section and a conversion of traffic volume data. In this estimation of the section traffic volume, all route numbers y<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>are counted for each OD(ij), route numbers x<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>passing a target section are counted for each OD(ij), traffic volume q<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>for each OD is multiplied by a ratio (x<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>/y<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>) of the route number to find by-OD section traffic volume f<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>=(x<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>/y<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>)q<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>, and f<SB POS="POST">ij</SB>is added concerning all the ODs to obtain section traffic volume F. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
