<p>The invention relates to a person recognition method based on partial fingerprints. According to the invention, the method consists in processing a partial fingerprint to be analyzed by ridge thinning, minutia identification, joining the minutia by lines and forming coloured regions, thereafter the partial fingerprint is compared with a fingerprint registered in the data base, the comparison being made by choosing two minutia, the most distant, which are compared with fingerprint template (from the database) and, if the minutia are not encountered, other two minutia from the partial fingerprint are chosen and the comparison process continues until either no pair of corresponding minutia is found in the fingerprint template, in which case the answer is negative, or there is found a corresponding pair in the fingerprint template, in which case the image of the fingerprint to be analyzed is aligned to the image of the fingerprint template, on the basis of the two pairs of minutia of the two images, and afterwards there is determined the degree of correlation by a process based on the fuzzy logic.</p> |
