Disclosed is a method for print control, which method comprises the following steps: receiving printing data (S102); obtaining information about a first printing format of the printing data, wherein the information about the first format includes the height of a first blank space (S104); obtaining paper-saving parameter information (S106); acquiring information about a second printing format according to the information about the first printing format and the paper-saving parameter information, wherein the information about the second format includes the height of a second blank space (S108); and printing the printing data according to the height of the second blank space (S110). A device for print control and a printing device are also disclosed. The method and devices can achieve a significant paper-saving effect during printing.
