In a transmission apparatus, a reception apparatus and a method for performing communication using chrominance information, a transmission apparatus includes a symbol converter to obtain a symbol from data; a symbol modulator to generate a chrominance value based on the symbol; a luminance controller to generate a luminance value; a color space converter to generate an RGB value based on the luminance value and the coordinate value; and a light emitting unit to emit light based on the RGB value. A reception apparatus includes a visible light receiver to receive light and to generate an electrical signal having RGB color information of the light; a color space converter to generate a luminance value and a chrominance value based on the RGB color information; a symbol demodulator to obtain a symbol based on the chrominance value; and a data converter to convert the symbol to data. |
