The radar has calculating units configured to determine phase difference from difference of phases determined by the calculating units on the basis of elementary patterns (Zj). The patterns are formed by subdivisions of overall pattern from a predetermined number of successive emission blocks. Each pattern permitting calculation of phase difference is free from terms relative to radial speed of the radar with respect to a target, where radial distance between the radar and the target is determined by the calculating units from the phase difference.
