PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately perform a quantitative evaluation of stability of a columnar rock lump of which upper end is retained by a rock mass and has a joint.
SOLUTION: A tensile strength and a density of a rock lump 20 having a columnar shape with a joint 10 are measured respectively. The axial length of the rock lump 20 falling from a rock mass 11 is calculated using the following expression (1) based on the measured tensile strength and the density. (1): Le=St/(ρg*sinθ), where Le represents the axial length of the rock lump 20 falling from the rock mass 11, St represents the tensile strength of the rock lump 20, ρ represents the density of the rock lump 20, g represents a gravitational acceleration, and θ represents an axial inclination angle of the rock lump 20 with respect to the horizontal direction.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
