PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and method of driving the same is provided to reduce unnecessary power consumption by controlling a common voltage and high-voltage power voltage in a descending way corresponding to image data. CONSTITUTION: A timing control unit(300) includes a control signal generating unit, data array unit and power voltage control unit. A gate driving unit scans a plurality of gate lines in order. A data driving unit(500) provides digital image data to data lines by converting digital image data to analog image data. A power voltage provider(600) supplies necessary generated voltage to each element of a liquid panel and driving circuit unit. A power IC unit(700) includes a gamma voltage provider(710) and common voltage provider(720).
