PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of glass substrate for liquid crystal display is provided to improve clarifying effect by Na2O by adding predetermined amount of aluminum oxide to glass frit. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of glass substrate for liquid crystal display comprises the following steps: manufacturing a molten glass(2) by fusing glass frit; and molding the molten glass into a glass plate(4). The glass composition of the glass substrate comprises SiO2, Al2O3 and R2O. The R is one or more selected from Li, Na and K, and at least part of R is Na. The inclusion rate of R2O is 0.01-2.0 mass%. The inclusion rate of Na2O which consists a part of R2O is 0.01-0.15 mass%. The glass frit includes aluminum oxide as raw material of Al2O3. 0.1-0.6 mass% of Na2O is contained in the aluminum oxide as impurities. |
