PURPOSE: An abnormal GTP packet intrusion prevention system and a method thereof are provided to efficiently detect a GTP packet and to prevent abnormal data call setup. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring unit(110) monitors a state of a system. An operation mode changing unit(120) changes an operation mode of the system based on the state of the system. A packet managing unit(210) stores GTP packet information based on the operation mode of the system. A detection result checking unit(220) determines drop of the GTP packet. A packet parsing unit(310) parses information about the GTP packet. A packet analyzing unit(320) analyzes information about the parsed GTP packet.
