The paper (10) has areas provided with different combustibility properties, and combustible zones (11), where porosity of each zone is controlled by microphone-perforation of the paper. The combustible zones and non-combustible zones (12) are circular in shape when a cigarette is formed while rolling the paper. The combustible and non-combustible zones are perpendicular to a large axis of the cigarette. The non-combustible zones have porosity lower than 5 coresta. Holes obtained by microphone-perforation have size ranging from 10-200 microns. The material used for reducing the porosity of paper consists of starch and its derivatives, cellulose and its derivatives, and natural gums such as xanthan, karaya, dammar, gellan, diutan, natural wax, fatty acids, fatty alcohols, pectins, alginates, agar-agar, carrageenans and dextrins. The microphone-perforation is designed as electrostatic, laser or mechanical type microphone-perforations. An independent claim is also included for a method for making a cigarette from a paper.
|
