<p>Disclosed is a method for producing a plant with altered biomass, the method comprising transformation of a plant cell or plant with: a) a polynucleotide including a sequence encoding a polypeptide with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or a variant of the polypeptide with at least 70% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 over its entire length; or b) a polynucleotide comprising a fragment, of at least 15 nucleotides in length, of the polynucleotide of a); or c) a polynucleotide comprising a compliment, of at least 15 nucleotides in length, of the polynucleotide of a); or d) a polynucleotide comprising a sequence, of at least 15 nucleotides in length, capable of hybridising to the polynucleotide of a) under stringent conditions. Further disclosed are isolated polynucleotides having at least 90% sequence identity to a nucleotide sequence that encodes a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the polynucleotide encodes a polypeptide capable of modulating biomass in a plant. Further disclosed are methods and isolated polypeptides as defined above according to SEQ ID NO: 10 as defined herein.</p> |
